Daylight Savings Reminder
Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, November 6. On Sunday morning, we will turn our clocks back an hour.
Maybe this year is the last time we will have to give up daylight savings time. The Senate passed a bill to make daylight savings time permanent. So far, the House of Representatives has not acted on the measure.
According to Wikipedia “The idea of aligning waking hours to daylight hours to conserve candles was first proposed in 1784 by US polymath Benjamin Franklin. In a satirical letter to the editor of The Journal of Paris, Franklin suggested that waking up earlier in the summer would economize on candle usage; and calculated considerable savings.”
