Donations

We accept donations for operating funds (“General Fund), or specific charities that we support. You can send a check or donate on line. As a 501(c)(8) organization we are exempt from income taxes, but donations themselves are not tax deductible.

The ongoing charities and projects are:

  • Service Dogs – Our primary charity directed at providing and supporting service dogs to the public.
  • ESTARL – (Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership) … Scholarship for those attending school for religious training.
  • Robert Morris Relief Fund – Provides funds for relief of Eastern Star Members
  • General Fund – Support the operations of Grand Chapter

The specific charities and projects targeted this year are:

  • Alzheimer’s – Collected for the Alzheimer’s awareness, care, support and research
  • Pediatric Cancer (Camp Rising Sun) – Supports the camp where cancer children can get R&R
  • St. Mary’s Hospital Toy Drive – Collect unwrapped toys to be given to child patients at the hospital
  • Tabs for Shriner’s Hospital – Aluminum tabs are sold by weight and the funds given to Shriner’s Hospital

Online Donations

For online Contribution, we use the Zeffy platform which reimburses us for any transaction fees. As such we receive the full amount of your donation. Note that it will give you the options for a 15% tip for their operations. This is optional and can be changed or set to zero.

Donations by Check

Make the check payable to “Grand Chapter of CT, OES”, and in the memo field write the specific purpose. You can include if it’s in memory of someone. Send the check to:
